Christmas Morning

Christmas morning got off to a slow start since Mikaela decided to sleep in.  The adults got dressed and ready for church before she ever woke up.  We have a Happy Birthday Jesus Breakfast (gingerbread this year) and then present time.  Mikaela nibbled on a little bit of "birthday cake" and then headed to the gifts.  There was a big one under the tree for her this year so it was hard to focus on cake until later.

It was Papa Bill's job to get them all out of the package.

the food came with a cutting board and knife because you can "cut" all the veggies as Gran demonstrates here

After opening all of the gifts from Gran & Papa Bill and arranging her kitchen, we took a break to get dressed for church.  Then it was back to play time and another present before leaving for church.

After nap, Mikaela discovered she still had another gift under the tree she hadn't opened yet.

We had a great time playing and visiting with the family.  I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas.

Christmas at the Graemparents

On Friday, December 23rd, we went to the Graem's for an early Christmas over there.  Mikaela played Santa by passing out all of the gifts under the tree and then we enjoyed opening them together and watching Mikaela play with all her new treasures.

Mikaela Talks

While reading books she identified a "Fire Truck, Whrrrr".  I won't tell her it was actually a dump truck.

Frisco Fire Safety Town

Last night we went with a friend from work and her son to the Frisco Fire Safety Town.  It is a great little miniature town that was designed to teach children about fire safety.  They have it all decorated for Christmas and opened it free to the public to do a variety of activities and even see Santa.  We had a great time.
