So Proud

Perhaps this is TMI - especially for people without small children, but it was a funny conversation that I want to remember.

D: "Are you done?"
M: "No, I'm going poop."
D: "Oh good, I'm glad."
M:  "Are you so proud?"
D: "Yes.  So proud."

Self-Esteem Check

Dad: "Thank you, Honey."
Mikaela: "I'm not a honey."
Dad:  "Thank you, Cutie Pie."
M: "I'm not a cutie pie."
D: "Thank you, Sweetie."
M: "I'm not a sweetie."
D: "Thank you....Pretty?"
M.  "Well, I am pretty."

Driving Instructions

"Look!  There's a bus.  It's taking kids to school.   We need to go around it."

Playing Catch Up

First, we'll take  you back to October 26th, where Mika and her pal, Tono went Trick-or-Treating at Frisco Fire Safety Town.  She really got the hang of sticking out her pumpkin and they'd give her candy.  She didn't quite master saying "Trick-or-Treat."

Next we'll reminisce the next night when Antonio came over to play while his mommy and daddy went to a costume party.   They had a blast and wore each other out by evening's end.

The following night, October 28th, Mikaela went to the Fall Festival at VVCC.

Funny things we heard today, and other news...

Name correction:

Me: "Michael?"
Mika: "No, Mommy.  It's not Michael.  It's Mike."


Inattentive Mother:

Mika: "Mommy, I want to get down" (from her booster chair at the table)
No response from Mommy as she was grading papers and not paying close enough attention.  A few minutes later...

"Mommy, I actually want to get down."


In other news - I am fully aware that Halloween has past and no pictures have been posted.  I am also aware than her birthday has past and no pictures have been posted.  The computer has been running slow so I've not had the patience for pictures recently.  Rest assured, Mike is working on it and I hope to upload pictures this weekend.  We also have pictures of the bathroom Mike recently remodeled.  He did an excellent job and those need to be shared.  Stay tuned.

3 yr doctor visit went great.

Weight: 31.6 (60%) - up 8 lbs from last year
Height: 32 1/4 in (75%) - up 2.5 in from last year

For a kid who doesn't seem to eat well, or much, she keeps growing.

Mikaela Sayings...

At Graemma's last night she was doing a little dancing, but not to music.

G: Mikaela, do you need to go potty?
M: No, Graemma.
G.  Well, why don't we go try just in case.
Slight protest from M, but she followed and after sitting up on the potty proceeded to go.

M: Perhaps I did need to go!

In Other News...

Mike and I were having dinner conversation while we sat down for a meal together.  We were talking about our days and whatnot.  Mikaela chimes in with, "So... I have a thumb."
