Halloween Fun

I intended to do one Halloween post on Nov. 1st, so that today, Nov. 2nd, I could post about Mikaela turning five.  However, I had to run 12 miles (turned out to be 11.4), immediately followed by 3 hours of helping at my program's garage sale, only to spend the rest of the afternoon/evening preparing for Mikaela's party.  So... I'm just now getting to the Halloween post.

Last week,  Mike's company had a Fall Festival event that we attended.  Here are photos from that.

Nicholas loves to color.

So does Mikaela...

All kinds of carnival games and they all wanted to play in the sand.

On Halloween during the day, my school allowed kids to dress up (It was Red Ribbon Week) and teachers were encouraged to as well.  Someone got the idea that teachers should be different types of fairies (Vocabulary Fairy, Coronary Fairy, Contrary Fairy, Literary Fairy, Scary Fairy, Revolutionary Fairy, etc).

I was the Dairy Fairy:
Most of the staff dressed up....

Then that night, we did "Trunk or Treat" at church, followed by a few houses in the Graemparents' neighborhood.

Halloween

I am a few days behind, but I wanted to blog about Halloween.  On Tuesday, 10/29, Mike took Mikaela to Chick-fil-a for Trunk or Treat.  She had a great time going to different trunks and also getting her face painted.  It was a good daddy-daughter date.

On Halloween, we took some pre-costume pictures before heading out to Trick-or-Treat in my parent's neighborhood.

Then the kids got dressed up for the main event.  Nicholas was a cow for his first Halloween.

Nicholas stayed with Graemma and Aunt Amy to help pass out candy while we walked the neighborhood.  Mikaela was very independent this year, unafraid to go up to people's doors, knock or ring the bell, and say trick-or-treat.  She had a great time.  Leaving one house, she exclaimed, "The is the best Halloween!"

We had a great time building memories.

Stay tuned for Mikaela's 4 year old post.  I am waiting for dr stats tomorrow to post.  I'll include her birthday party when I do.

Playing Catch Up

First, we'll take  you back to October 26th, where Mika and her pal, Tono went Trick-or-Treating at Frisco Fire Safety Town.  She really got the hang of sticking out her pumpkin and they'd give her candy.  She didn't quite master saying "Trick-or-Treat."

Next we'll reminisce the next night when Antonio came over to play while his mommy and daddy went to a costume party.   They had a blast and wore each other out by evening's end.

The following night, October 28th, Mikaela went to the Fall Festival at VVCC.

And finally - to cap off the Halloween festivities, Mikaela went Trick-or-Treating in Graemma & Graempa's neighborhood.

Stay tuned for pictures from her 3rd birthday and photos from our recent bathroom remodel.  That's all for now!
